It’s been a tough few weeks for Pittsburgh native, Mac Miller. Earlier this year, he and his girlfriend, Ariana Grande, split ways. Shortly thereafter, Miller and the rest of the world learned that Grande was engaged to comedian, Pete Davidson, a month after their split. Not to mention, Mac Miller was involved in a serious car accident along the way. To make matters worse, Grande hinted that their split was in part caused by Miller’s battle with addiction. Despite how bad things may appear, Mac Miller is back with a hint of sunshine. After releasing three new singles at the end of May, Mac Miller has announced that his next album, Swimming, will be released on August 3rd.
Mac Miller announced his new album through an album trailer released earlier today. In the trailer, viewers can see what appears to be a robot floating through a dark, cave like area as somber music plays in the background. Viewers can hear Miller sing, “My regrets look just like texts I shouldn’t send. I got neighbors that move like strangers. We could be friends. I just need a way out of my end.” The video comes to a close with the official album announcement.
With everything that has transpired in the rapper’s life over the past few months, this may be Mac Miller’s most personal album to date. Be sure to check back for any more singles and videos that may arrive over the next few months.
