Where in the world is Luke Ridnour now? It appears he’s heading north to the Toronto Raptors, in the fourth trade for him, joining a fifth different team just this week alone.
Ridnour started the offseason as a member of the Orlando Magic until he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. Then he was shipped from the Grizzlies to the Charlotte Hornets. He went from the Hornets to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Jeremy Lamb and now he’s getting trade from the Thunder to the Toronto Raptors for essentially nothing.
Following from an official Thunder Press Release.
The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired a trade exception and the rights to forward Tomislav Zubcic from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for guard Luke Ridnour and cash considerations, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.
The Thunder will have one year from today to exercise the trade exception.
It appears all of these teams are afraid to cut the unguaranteed $2.8 million contract of Ridnour. Teams have been using his contract to shift smaller pieces around to try and improve their team.
I just wonder if Ridnour has been going from city to city meeting teams or did someone just tell him to hangout for a little bit and wait until it’s all over. You can now see why Ridnour was considering retirement at the beginning of the season.
