Carolina Panther linebacker Luke Kuechly reportedly had shoulder surgery a few days ago and is now in the recovery process. Joeseph Person of the Charolette Observer had reported it was on his right shoulder.
This surgery may come as a surprise to fans but im sure the team was well aware of this before Kuechly went under the knife. The star linebacker did miss the Pro Bowl with an unspecified injury but didn’t comment on it at the time.
While the defensive star did miss a game this season it had nothing to do with a shoulder issue, it was a concussion in week 7. Luke Kuechly did in fact show up on the injury report later in the year with a shoulder injury but didn’t miss any time.
There is no current timeline for his return to football activities but the Panthers will surely give him all the time he needs to recoup this offseason. I expect him will be back for week 1 at the least but we never know with this kind of injury.
Kuechly did previously have surgery on his right shoulder in 2015 to repair a torn labrum. Hopefully the 26-year old will bounce back an regain his Pro Bowl form for the 2018 season.
