The whole story of Rick Pitino vs Louisville has been one slippery slope. Allegations against Pitino came out in September after he was accused of funnelling money to different players to sign with certain agents. These agents were there to help his chances of getting the players he wanted to play for Louisville. Pitino was later fired by the team.
Later, in the home stretch of November, Pitino was planning to sue the University for more than $35 million. Pitino cited that it was a ‘Breach of Contract’. But wait, there’s more! According to WDRB.com’s Jason Riley, the University is now counter-suing Pitino for monetary damages that occurred because of his transgressions.
U of L has filed a lawsuit against former coach Rick Pitino, asking for monetary damages, including money it will lose from NCAA vacated games in 2012-2015 tournaments.

The University will now lose 123 wins that the team accomplished throughout the three seasons. This includes the teams 2013 National Championship win over Michigan.
According to Gary B. Graves of the Associated Press, the school filed an appeal to the NCAA to have the penalties reduced.
