Ohio State guard and lottery prospect D’Angelo Russell will end up skipping his workout with the Philadelphia 76ers. According to Keith Pompey beat writer for the Sixers:

D’Angelo missing his workout could mean a couple things. He’s already been told by a team lower then the Sixers he will get selected by them, so the Lakers or Timberwolves. If that isn’t the case, D’Angelo may not want to go to Philadelphia. Which would seem ironic to me. Out of the top 5 picks in the draft, Philly and L.A seem to have the brightest futures, while the Knicks, Magic, and Wolves have some things to figure out. D’Angelo played high school basketball with Joel Embiid who was the Sixers lottery pick last year, which missed the entire season. The Sixers have a good young core of Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid. The addition of Russell could mean they have three top 5 draft picks for them to work with and create a star player out of.
UPDATE: D’Angelo Russell has announced that he will cancel his workout with the Sixers due to him being sick.
