Los Angeles Lakers continue to be bottom feeders in the NBA’s Western Conference and they also have a big time injury to a big name player that some might have heard of, Kobe Bryant.
Jordan Hill also got hurt recently and he’s been a constant in the middle for the Lakers and now he’s going to miss some time.
It seems like the Lakers now may be on the hunt to send some players out of Lakers-land and get something back for it.
One player though, Jeremy Lin, seems to be harder to move than others.

He still would make a good backup point guard, and the Lakers would move him if they could get an asset in return, but the market for Lin has been weak.
Once the Lakers traded for Jeremy Lin in the offseason, they had to know he was going to be with them all season and moving him would be near impossible. The contract is a main sticking point this season that some teams might be avoiding. His contract counts for $8.4 million against the cap but is actually north of $15 million in money paid out due to the way the Houston Rockets set it up in 2012.
Couple that with the fact that he has been hanging out at Byron Scott’s doghouse for a majority of the season, including getting a couple DNP, Coaches Decisions and Lin’s time in Los Angeles isn’t exactly made for Hollywood.
Lin is averaging 10.4 points per game, 4.7 assists per game, 2.5 rebounds in 25.8 minutes per game, which are all his lowest numbers since his rookie season. He’s also playing with his 4th team in 5 seasons.
Lin does some things well actually, he’s aggressive and attacks off the pick-and-roll very well. He can finish around the rim draw fouls and knock down some threes when needed. On the flip-side, he’s not a great assist guy, he’s weak to his left side, he turns the ball over too much, and he’s not a great defender.
Lin is a solid NBA backup point guard in this league, not a starter. If it weren’t for the folklore in 2012 known as “Linsanity” and his insane contract, the expectations of him wouldn’t be so high.
