Ever since being drafted 2nd overall by the Los Angeles Lakers, it has felt like guard Lonzo Ball has had a target on his back. After posting stellar NBA Summer League numbers, Ball is fully expected to be the face of the modern Lakers era alongside Brandon Ingram.
Lonzo’s father LaVar has supposedly talked all of this into existence and has high expectations for his son and the Lakers, claiming Lonzo could lead Los Angeles to the playoffs next season. However, before any of that can happen, rap star and entertainer Lil B may have something of his own to say about that.
Born Brandon McCartney, Lil B has become somewhat notorious in the NBA world over the past several seasons due to him summoning ‘The Based God Curse’, ruining a season or playoff hopes for a specific player almost every time he has cursed someone thus far. After Lonzo Ball called artists such as Future and Migos real hip-hop and took a jab at rap legend Nas, Lil B tweeted out that he was contemplating cursing Ball and the Lakers:
Lonzo ball is a few seconds away from being cursed his rookie year on the lakers, nas is hip hop and always relevant, watch ur team – Lil B

When Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum Sports Net asked Lonzo Ball about the curse, the UCLA product said he wasn’t worried about it in the slightest and said himself that he doesn’t even believe in the curse:
While Lil B has cursed a handful of NBA players, the two most notable names belong to James Harden and Kevin Durant. Lil B cursed Durant during the 2016 Western Conference Finals in which KD’s OKC Thunder were up 3-1 but ultimately squandered that lead allowing the Warriors to reach the NBA Finals for the second straight season. Since Lil B cursed Harden, the Rockets have failed to make any deep playoff push and Harden has finished second in MVP voting two seasons in a row now.
However, Lil B may be easing up as he officially lifted the curse on Harden earlier this summer and he ultimately gave Lonzo and the Lakers a pass too in the end:
Big baller brand is family we all have opinions lonzo ball was not wrong what he said.. just please respect hip hop. thank u love u –
