Lonzo Ball is expected to be the type of transcendent talent to turn around a Los Angeles Lakers franchise that has endured its share of losing seasons recently. He has the ability to do it all from the point guard spot and the Lakers know it too as they took him with the second overall pick in this summer’s NBA Draft.
However, along with the attention Ball has garnered on the court, the 20-year-old has also started to make serious waves in the entertainment industry, specifically in the rap world. He first claimed 21 Savage had a better album this summer than Jay-Z and also called Migos and Future real hip-hop, simultaneously disrespecting rap legend Nas.
Not only does Lonzo Ball have strong opinions on hip-hop but he has spit a few bars of his own in the past, curating a remix to Drake’s Free Smoke months ago. Now, the oldest of the three Ball brothers going by the rap name ‘Zo’ has officially released his debut single ‘Melo Ball 1’.
The track’s title is related to his little brother, LaMelo, getting his own Big Baller Brand shoe similar to Lonzo called the Melo Ball 1. The track features Kenneth Paige on the hook while Lonzo raps his two verses about Big Baller Brand and his youngest brother over the trap-inspired beat.
