New York R&B is thriving and living well at the moment. Over the summer, Teyana Taylor dropped her incredible project, K.T.S.E. In addition, H.E.R dropped two short projects and took home hardware at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. Not to mention, Gallant is preparing a return after a short layoff following his last project. Given the success of these contemporary R&B singers, it’s easy to overlook an alternative R&B duo called Lion Babe.
Formed by Jillian Hervey and Lucas Goodman, Lion Babe is a critically acclaimed duo that has worked with Donald Glover and Disclosure and put out underground tracks like “Jump Hi” and “Treat Me Like Fire”. The duo put out their last full length body of work back in 2016, but they have decided to return in 2019 with a brand new project called Cosmic Wind. The new effort from Lion Babe comes with fifteen tracks and previously released singles like “Western World” and “Honey Dew”. The new album also features guest appearances from Raekwon, Leikeli47 and Bilal. Check out the full project above and let us know what you think of the latest album from Lion Babe, Cosmic Wind.
