On Monday evening, federal agents reportedly found a firearm and drugs aboard Lil’ Wayne’s private jet in Miami. Wayne was one of fourteen passengers aboard the jet at the time of the search. Federal agents were able to move forward with the search after receiving a tip regarding possible contraband aboard the flight.
According to the Miami Herald, “investigators found cocaine and a gun.” As of now, it is unclear where on the plane the gun and drugs were found and who they may belong to. As a result, Lil’ Wayne was “cleared” to leave the scene. At the moment, no charges have been filed in relation to the incident. Authorities will continue with their investigation over time.
Federal courts are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so it is unlikely that there will be any movement on this case over the next forty-eight hours. In the meantime, Wayne will continue to move forward. He has stated that his next project will drop in February. Not to mention, he’s set to perform at Chicago’s newest live music venue, Radius, in March.
