
On Monday, June 9, 2025, Lil’ Wayne returned to the performance stage at the 2025 BET Awards at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California and stole the show. Backed by a full choir, the New Orleans, Louisiana native merged the old with the new, performing Tha Carter VI‘s “Welcome To The Carter” and “A Milli” off of Tha Carter III.

Lil’ Wayne returns to the stage days after releasing Tha Carter VI, his first album in five years. The 19-track LP featured a wide range of artists, including Jelly Roll, Bono, Mannie Fresh, Wyclef Jean, mgk, Kodak Black, and Lil’ Novi. Shortly after its release, Lil’ Wayne announced Tha Carter VI tour with Tyga and Belly Gang Kushington. The tour kicked off on June 6 with a special performance at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York and will continue on July 6 with a show in Bristow, Virginia. Lil’ Wayne and company will take their show on the road through Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles and several other cities before wrapping up in West Palm Beach, Florida on October 2, 2025.
