Throughout this past year, Lil’ Uzi Vert has remained relatively quiet. After an amazing run in 2017 that included the release of hide debut album, Uzi’s musical output has largely been limited to one single and a few features this year. Uzi linked up with Travis Scott on “Watch” and Juice WRLD on “Wasted”, but aside from a few more album placements he’s stayed out of the spotlight. Many have speculated that his next album, Eternal Atake, would be released this year, but it doesn’t appear that will come before 2019. Instead, Uzi dropped a new verse on a record called “Shells”.
The new verse from the Philadelphia native comes alongside DMV up and coming artists, Shabazz PBG. On the verse, Uzi raps, “Tryin’ to figure out how I’m gonna get out my deal/I’m a bad boy, a reverend, I feel like I’m Mase/Your b*tch with me but she got to leave by eight.” It’s unclear whether or not Uzi is already in talks to leave his label, but he has long been frustrated with his label situation. Hopefully, it doesn’t slow down the release of his next project. In the meantime, we’ll take the music for what it is. Check out the new video for “Shells” by Shabazz PBG featuring Lil’ Uzi Vert
