After a slow start to the new year, it appears that the music release schedule has picked up yet again. Nas, Jay-Z and a number of other New York legends are releasing new music this weekend. Representing for the younger generation, Lil’ Tjay has linked up with 6LACK for a new track called “Calling My Phone.”
Lil’ Tjay teased the record earlier this week with a photo of himself and the Atlanta superstar.
“Sometimes you’ve got to switch it up and hit them with something that they never expected,” he tweeted.
While Lil’ Tjay has not collaborated with 6LACK previously, it is not completely a surprise. In the past, he’s found ways to work with Polo G, Fivio Foreign, Summer Walker, Blueface, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa and several others. Not to mention, he appeared on a number of tracks with the late Pop Smoke. Working with 6LACK appears to be the next step in his maturation as a rising artist.
6LACK and Lil’ Tjay mesh perfectly on “Calling My Phone” as they merge their dark, melodic sounds. Check out the song below.
