In today’s music cycle, everything moves so quickly that it’s hard to keep up. One week, there can be two short projects, four short albums, a surprise album and a new single from your artist. From there on, it’s the same thing plus two more singles. This week, we received new projects from Styles P, Vince Staples, Pink Sweat$ and many more. Hours later, we’re already gearing up for another week of releases that includes new projects from Too Short, Lil’ Peep and more. Of those November 9th releases, one of the more anticipate projects is set to come from Chicago’s own, Lil’ Durk.
On November 9th, the Chicago native is set to drop the third installment of his Signed To The Streets series. The Chicago rapper dropped the first installment of the series back in 2013 and has been grinding ever since. The original project featured his breakout single, “Dis Ain’t What You Want”. The song went on to do great things for his career including a co-sign from Meek Mill, Rick Ross and French Montana on the remix. Given the success of the first project, it comes as no surprise that the Chicago artist went on to work with the likes of Tee Grizzley, Jeremih and many more. Furthermore, it comes as no surprise that the Chicago star would return to drop two more of the same series.
After taking a four year hiatus since dropping the last Signed To The Streets project, he is back to complete the trilogy. The only difference with this project is that its being positioned a full length studio album. Thus far, he’s released singles like “Spin The Block” with Future and “Rockstar” with Lil’ Skies. This Friday, he’s back with another single from the upcoming project. This one’s called “Neighborhood Hero”. Given everything that he’s accomplished since arriving on the scene in 2012, the title fits perfectly. Stream the newest single from Lil’ Durk above and be sure to check back next Friday at midnight for the full album stream.
