Some may tend to forget that Ray Donovan star Liev Schreiber was a member of the Marvel universe in the 2009 solo Wolverine movie. Schreiber played Wolverine’s brother, Victor Creed, also known as the infamous Sabretooth, but did not appear in the following sequel, The Wolverine.
Could Schreiber make a return to the series in the forthcoming third installment, Wolverine 3? He spoke on that with MTV News on the Oscars red carpet on Sunday night, saying he’s even had talks with Hugh Jackman about it:
“We talked about it,” Schreiber told MTV News on the Oscars red carpet Sunday (February 28) night, referring to his conversations with Jackman. “I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me. The Old Man Logan story — that’s appealing. That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word.”
Wolverine 3 is currently set for a March 2017 release. The Old Man Logan story it’s said to be adapting comes from a story by Mark Miller. The comic takes place 50 years in the future and Wolverine is older and settled down with a family when he’s called on a final mission by Hawkeye.
Schreiber sounds interested enough in making another appearance as Sabretooth, and it would further legitimize the trilogy to have the story come full circle with Wolverine’s brother coming back.
