Bell was originally suspended in April due to his DUI and Marijuana possession charges back in August of 2014. Bell and former teammate LaGarrette Blount were arrested driving to a preseason affair. Bell was happy to have his suspension reduced.
“I want to make sure I do everything in my power to be a better teammate and player,” Bell said on the first day of Steelers training camp. “Whatever the consequence is, I’ll take it. … You have to take the good with the bad.”
The reduced suspension will help the Steelers as counting on DeAngelo Williams for any long period of time could spell danger for the Steelers. With Bell back in the fold one week early it will also help strengthen his fantasy value even though he was likely a top fantasy pick regardless. Bell was 2nd in the NFL in rushing yards with 1,361 and will now be eligible for a week three afair against St. Louis.
