Hollywood veteran LeVar Burton is set to direct a new documentary from Lou Reda Productions called Two-Front War. The upcoming documentary will look at the nature of the Civil Rights Movement as Black soldiers headed off for the Vietnam War. It will feature first-person accounts of veterans, journalists, activists and many others.
“Both the Vietnam War and the movement for civil rights in America, are events that not only dominated my childhood and adolescence, they have gone a long way towards shaping the man and the storyteller I am today,” Burton said.
“Two-Front War has been a passion project for us for nearly 10 years and we are extremely excited to have LeVar’s truly unique point of view as director,” Marc L. Reda of Lou Reda Productions said.
This is just the latest directorial project from Burton. Most notably, he directed episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. He also recently released his own series, This Is My Story, about his experiences as a Black student at the University of Southern California.
