
Leonard Williams was traded but won’t have to move, he’s still playing in New York.
The 25-year-old defensive lineman, who was the sixth overall pick in 2015, was dealt from the Jets to the Giants on Monday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter later included more specific details, one of which is contingent on Williams signing a contract extension with his new team.

Jets are paying $4 million of Williams’ $6 million salary this season.

For his career, Williams has 17 sacks and 260 total tackles over the span of his career. He is currently playing under the fifth-year option in his contract and is scheduled to become a free agent following this season.
He was selected to the 2015 NFL All-Rookie Team and was a Pro Bowler in 2016. Williams has not missed a game thus far in his time as a professional.
Williams hasn’t registered a sack this season yet but has made 20 tackles.
The Jets are in third in the AFC East at 1-6, ahead of the 0-6 Dolphins; the Giants sit at 2-6 and are in third place in the NFC East, ahead of the 1-7 Redskins.
