Lena Waithe is taking her talents to showtime. The writer and producer is set to create a new comedy anthology with a pretty lengthy title ‘How to Make Love to a Black Woman (Who May Be Working Through Some Sh*t).’
The project, created by Casallina “Cathy” Kisakye, is the latest project to come to the network through Waithe’s first-look deal with Showtime. Kisakye, Waithe and Rishi Rajani will executive produce.
The half-hour project, with each episode intended to contain multiple storylines, is described as a collection of characters “telling stories about connection and rejection that explore our most harrowing — and harrowingly comic —sexual secrets.”
Waite is a directed writer and producer, writing for Netflix’s hit TV show ‘Master of None’, ‘The Chi’ & ‘Dear White People’, she knows who to trust when it comes to writing. As for release or production dates, there is no sign of this project jumping into production soon. The pilot will be the first thing the staff works on.
