LeGarrette Blount Waived by Steelers
Blount has been cut from the team after walking off the field early in the win over the Titans on Monday night. The former Oregon Ducks running back has had his recent troubles in his past, which expedited the release. On August 20th Blount and teammate Le’Veon Bell were charged possession of Marijuana. Blount also had that profound incident in college when he punched a Boise State player after the game had concluded. LeGarrette was a star in the post season last season for the Patriots rushing for 172 yards and 2 touchdowns in two games. The New England Patriots could be a team interested in his services following the ACL injury to Stevan Ridley. The most likely scenario for Mr. Blount is he waits out the season and try’s to find a new home this off season. With the recent troubles of Adrian Peterson and Ray Rice a team is unlikely to give Blount a shot to play this season. The 6-foot, 250-pound back ends his Pittsburgh career with 65 carries, 250 yards, and 2 touchdowns through 11 games. Rookie from Kent State Dri Archer will be the new number two tailback. Archer is known for running the fastest 40 yard dash time at the 2014 Combine with a 4.26.
