So I’m going to be honest here. I don’t know if LeBron James is joking or not. I mean there’s a good argument as to why you’d think he was serious.
Imagine you were in his shoes, (baboom! I’m here all week) and you just got scored on by a guy rocking the new LeBron 13, your shoe. What would you do? You wouldn’t be happy that’s for sure. Not only did you get scored on, but he flexed on you with your own signature shoe no less! Oh hell no!
I’ll admit the 13’s are growing on me now that I’m seeing some cool colourways. But I ain’t wearing them against him. No sir. I don’t care if he’s joking or not.
“When I was a kid and I used to see guys wear MJ’s shoes when they played against MJ I’m like, ‘Oh MJ got a little mental edge over those guys,’” James said.
“If you just a guy that’s just like, you actually just go to Foot Locker or somewhere,” James added. “You just get a pair of ‘Brons and you want to wear ’em on a Tuesday night vs. me? I’ma bust your ass. Straight up.”
I can see where he’s coming from in terms of the mental edge. They’re wearing those shoes because they know that you the man.
Or they just like the shoe and it just so happens to have your name on it. I’m actually going to see if anybody has the stones to play LeBron while rocking his kicks now.
