LeBron James is so much more than a basketball player. It is pretty easy to get caught up in the pretty passes and slam dunks, but there is much more to The King than meets the eye. On top of being a first-ballot Hall of Fame talent, James gives back to his hometown of Akron, is a part-time movie star, and has become a television producer. Most notably his new show, called “The Wall”, has aspirations of changing people’s lives.
“The Wall” is a game show on NBC that has a potential of dishing out $12 million of prize money every episode. That is life-changing money for anyone, but James’ wants the show to be something that appeals to all ages. The goal is to make the show almost just as thrilling to the viewers as it is to the contestants, no easy task.
James, to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin: “To see it come all the way to where it was last night, it was like seeing your kid go off to college,” James said prior to Tuesday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Cavs had a team watch party for the show on Monday. Richard Jefferson posted the event on Snapchat, featuring a worried-looking LeBron. “I’m nervous for the contestants” James said on the Snapchat video.
“The Wall” officially airs on January 3rd. It is a product of James, his longtime associate Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment, host Chris Hardwick, and Andrew Glassman of Glassman Media.
