LeBron James’ production company SpringHill will work with NBC to develop a show based on surgeon Dr. James Andrews. From ESPN’s Brian Windhorst:
Andrews will act as a consultant on the project with James and business partner Maverick Carter as executive producers. James, who played himself in the comedy film “Trainwreck” last summer, is not slated to star in the series.
It is set to follow the life of a doctor who treats high-profile athletes.
James recently bought a home in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles and spent much of the summer there as his company, SpringHill Entertainment, works on projects as part of a deal with Warner Bros.
SpringHill is behind current shows “Survivor’s Remorse” and “Cleveland Hustles.” James is also developing a “Space Jam” reboot with Warner Bros.
Andrews is perhaps most renowned doctor in the field of sports medicine. Andrews, who treats a wide array of athletes from all around the country, serves as the official team doctor for Alabama football, Auburn football, and the Washington Redskins.
