LeBron James once again brings us back to the reason why we got to love him as a person.
Yes he’s been relatively annoying recently. Saying that he’d be a bench player knowing that there ain’t all snowballs chance in hell that would ever happen. Subtweeting about Kevin Love not fitting in. It’s clear when it comes to the Cavs, he’s doing too much when he should just ride the wave that they’re on at the moment.
Despite all that. You can’t help but applaud the charity work him and his foundation does.
“Every year LeBron James is selected as an All-Star, he gives back to the local community of the All-Star host city in some way. This year, the LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF) is teaming up with Sprite to complete 23 Acts of Kindness and Giving across New York City. Two of these acts are complete renovations of Boys & Girls Clubs in Manhattan and Brooklyn, which is part of an annual All-Star initiative for LJFF and Sprite. Other acts include surprise giveaways in local stores, restaurants, hospitals, and other community centers.
The Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star will introduce hundreds of Boys & Girls Club members to a refurbished gymnasium, which includes a refinished floor, new score board and fresh paint, as well as an upgraded computer clubhouse with advanced technology that will provide club members with cutting-edge computer education programs.
The NBA has truly embraced the All-Star Weekend in New York. The videos on the history of basketball in each Borough was sublime. It’s just great to see and things like this really brings us back to how great NBA players are in terms of simply just being great role models.
