Whether Paul Pierce retires this year or not. We all know that he is 1) The Truth and 2) one of the most clutch players in the game. And what was great about him is how he talked trash but backed it up nearly every time, I really hope that he plays for another year. I love the guy, it’d be a damn shame if he hanged it up.
Something that cemented Pierce’s name in NBA folklore was when he owned LeBron James during the Playoffs. LeBron spent years trying to figure it out but couldn’t get over the hump. And he admits that facing Pierce inspired him to be better.
“Obviously if he says he’s not quite sure about next year, but he’s Double-P man,” James said to NEOMG. “I’ve been competing against him my whole career and our battles that we’ve had, our differences that we’ve had. But you know one thing about it, when you face him; you’re going to always compete. I wish him the best in whatever he decides to do.”
Pierce and James had many battles in the playoffs over the years.
“Obviously he gets a cliff note or a couple notes in my book as far as guys that helped me get over the hump or kept me where I was at the time,” James recognizes. “I knew I had to become much better individually. He’s one of those guys.“
Paul Pierce was nothing but good to the game, he has been consistent for all of his career and of course his celebrations are totally boss. Hall Of Fame? You got that right.
