After being ruled out for the 3-Point Contest and All-Star Game last weekend due to a strained calf, Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh was reported to be experiencing another potential blood clot issue. Bosh has since resumed taking blood thinners to battle the clotting.
LeBron James reacted to his former teammate’s condition while speaking to reporters on Wednesday, via Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com:
“There’s nothing really I can say to make things better for him. I texted him today and told him I was sorry and I hate that he has to go through this again. Guy means so much to not only the Heat family but his personal family as well. Just a great guy, a professional, a great guy and for something like this to happen to him after he was cleared, it just sucks. It sucks big time. His health is the No. 1 care and obviously basketball comes secondary to what he’s going through right now. It’s just tough.”
James and Bosh won two championships together with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013.
Bosh, 31, missed the last 30 games of last season when it was discovered that a blood clot traveled to his lungs. It’s unknown if he will be able to return to the Heat lineup this season. LeBron’s feelings about Bosh’s untimely circumstance are definitely shared throughout the basketball community.
