I am loving some of these people who are totally freaking out about this news. It just makes me laugh watching people talk about the news of LeBron opting out of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, acting like the plot of San Andreas is about to begin.
The news of the day is definitely LeBron James. He has done what all reporters expected and has opted out of his contract with the Cavs.
Sources: despite becoming free agent, @KingJames will not visit other teams. He will re-sign with Cavs later this summer.

The move, which was expected, marks the third time in the past six years that James will be an unrestricted free agent. This time is expected to have a different outcome, as James intends to re-sign with his current team, sources said.
While the team does not have salary-cap space or own James’ Bird rights, it is able to offer him a contract up to the max of around $22 million per year under league rules. James is expected to eventually repeat his actions of last July and sign a one-year contract with a player option for the 2016-17 season that will allow him to become a free agent again next summer when the salary cap and max salaries take a jump.
Now there are a lot of interesting variables here. 1. Next year, that salary cap jump will affect so many teams and players alike. I have a feeling that some players and teams won’t find a common ground next year. Not saying LeBron and Cleveland will be an example, but you never know.
And 2. The Cavs have eight unrestricted free agents. Now they will all probably re-sign and carry on trying to bring a championship to Cleveland. But hey, the word ‘variable’ comes to mind. What if one decides to go to another team? Will the floodgates open? It’s something to think about.
