LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are rolling through the 2017 NBA Playoffs, for the most part, as they currently lead their series 3-0 against the Indiana Pacers. But before LeBron and the Cavs got the chance to continue to show their dominance in the Eastern Conference, The King was granted with access not many people can say they received. James got to listen to the new Kendrick Lamar project ‘DAMN’ a few days early.
The album has received much praise everywhere including the co-sign from James on his Instagram story. But the connection between the rap superstar and NBA great goes beyond just music and sports. They have a connection that LeBron talked about in detail recently more than simply being name dropped in a song.
Following the Cavs historic game three comeback win over the Pacers, LeBron was asked by a media member about the Kendrick Lamar album. James talked about ‘DAMN’ and what connection he has with the MC. James was raised in Akron, Ohio and Kendrick was raised in Compton, California but the connection between the two kids raised in the inner city is real as James notes below.
