The Miami Heat made a statement last night, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 122-101. And the game, like the final score suggests, wasn’t close at all.
The Heat have 11 straight wins against the Cavaliers in the AAA, 4-0 since LeBron went back to Cleveland. LeBron James dropped 26 points in the loss but the Heat were on point from start to finish.
The Heat and Cavaliers are currently scheduled to meet in the 2nd round of the Playoffs, with this possibility, LeBron is concerned that the Cavs can’t win in Miami.
“The way they’ve beat us here is a little concerning if we face them [in the playoffs],” James said after Saturday’s loss. “I think we’ll be ready for it more. We didn’t play with [our] potential. We didn’t play our game. We let them play their game, and they took it to us.”
“You would like to play well from February into March,” James said. “Consistency is a part of life.“
The Cavaliers are slipping again, meanwhile the Toronto Raptors remain consistent, some that LeBron James and the Cavs are not.
My bold prediction at the start of the season was that the Cleveland Cavaliers will not make it to the NBA Finals, and at the moment, it’s not unthinkable.
