LeBron James has done everything anyone could have conceivably asked of him in the NBA Finals. However, playing against what will be known as the best team of all time is a brutally tough task. The Cavaliers, now down 3-0, are in a hole no team has ever been able to climb out of. After game three, LeBron James finally admitted what he had previously denied according to Shams Charania of Yahoo.com.
“I’m drained right now, both mentally and physically.”
After three straight games of spectacular play, it should surprise no one that the King is tired. Averaging 32 points, 12.3 rebounds, 10.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks while playing over 41.7 minutes per game is truly unprecedented. It is also remarkable how little it has mattered. Receiving little help from any other player not in the “Big Three” plus the greatness of the Warriors has crippled the Cavaliers.
Playing at the height of your powers while averaging a triple double and it meaning nothing would be unimaginably mentally exhausting. While resting very little in three games played would be obviously physically draining. So, it is OK LeBron. You are allowed to be tired, only one more game to go. Probably.
