When the Memphis Grizzlies fired head coach David Fizdale on Monday, the basketball world erupted in shock and outrage. Fizdale was a respected coach, and his termination came – for the most part – without warning. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, both coached by Fizdale in Miami, where he was an assistant to Erik Spoelstra, reacted similarly via Twitter:
I need some answers. Feels like my man was a fall guy

James also reacted via the above video, and here’s a transcription courtesy of SB Nation:
“[Fizdale’s firing] probably took everybody in the basketball world by surprise besides who pulled the trigger,” LeBron said. “I don’t know the details of it because I’m not around [the Grizzlies]. But I know the type of coach Fiz is, I know how players relate to him, and I know what he stands for. And he don’t stand for no… Maybe that’s what it was because he ain’t gonna kiss nobody’s ass, I know that. Maybe that’s what it was.”
Fizdale and James won two championships together with the Miami Heat.
