Lebron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers have gone through their fair share of highs, along with extreme lows this season. The team was once competing for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, and not too much later they were struggling to stay in the playoff picture. After a big victory over the Denver Nuggets Wednesday night, the Cavaliers are slowly pulling away from the mid-tier teams in the East.
But for the four-time MVP, it doesn’t seem to matter, according to AP’s Tim Reynolds:
LeBron just reminded you that his season starts on the third Saturday of April. “Listen, it doesn’t matter to me if I’m a 6-seed or a 3-seed or a 2-seed, 8-seed. If I come into your building for a Game 1, I can be very challenging.”

Spending time with both the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers, James has led his teams to seven consecutive NBA Finals appearances but has only secured the first seed in the Eastern Conference twice in those seven years. The King is still the unquestioned best player in the NBA, and regardless of where his teams end up in the playoff picture, James has had little to no trouble knocking off the other top teams in the East over the years, including the top-seeded Chicago Bulls in both 2011 and 2012, along with the Indiana Pacers in 2014, and the Atlanta Hawks in 2015.
The Cavaliers have had struggles both on and off the court, but each season has culminated with the same NBA Finals run each year, and by now we should all know to never doubt what a LeBron-led team can do when the playoffs roll around, regardless of what happens in the regular season.
