The 2017 NBA Finals received a much-needed boost with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ win in game four. With the series receiving just enough uncertainty, game five promised to be an exciting affair and it has so far lived up to its billing.
Both teams have come out attempting to land death blows and both have come dangerously close. The first half included several crushing and ridiculous highlights but none were better than the two dueling posters created by LeBron James and Andre Iguodala.
First, James exploded to the basket in transition to jam a big one over Kevin Durant. The Cavs’ forward was clearly hit in the head while putting down the two-handed dunk but the officials were apparently too much in awe to call anything:

A few minutes later, Andre Iguodala did his best impression; the Warriors’ sixth man played phenomenal defense on Kyrie Irving (seemingly one of Steve Kerr’s adjustments to the game), stealing the ball and finishing on the other end with a monstrous, vintage slam. The man took off from inside the dotted circle:

It’s been an exciting game five so far aided by these two plays in particular. Let’s hope for more come the second half.
