Emmy-nominated actress Laverene Cox has landed a lead role in CBS’s new legal drama Doubt.
She will star in a role created specifically for her, as Cameron Wirth – an Ivy League-educated lawyer, whose personal experiences with injustice make her competitive and passionate when it comes to fighting for her clients.
Should CBS order a full season, Cox will be the first series regular trans character on a primetime CBS show.
Cox currently stars in Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, and will be seen in an upcoming episode of Fox’s The Mindy Project.
