Unfortunately, Wright’s update on Friday is really all we know about the upcoming film other than the main cast and a few inspirations. Earlier this year, Anya Taylor-Joy was announced to be starring in the film alongside Matt Smith and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie. Wright has named both Don’t Look Now and Repulsion as inspiration for his psychological horror film.
Wright has amassed a cult following over the years, thanks in large part to his ‘Cornetto Trilogy’ of Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, and At World’s End. For a long time though, he was known to most as the guy who almost did Ant-Man. That is until 2017’s Baby Driver raced into theaters, wowing critics and audiences alike with its slick visuals, incredible soundtrack, and tight writing. Since then, fans have been clamoring to know what the director will do next. Never one to rush things, though, Wright’s taken his time and doesn’t look to be speeding up anytime soon.
Last Night in Soho hits theaters next year on September 25th, 2020.
