There are many things wrong with the Los Angeles Lakers today. But honestly, when I watch their games and see D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and Larry Nance Jr I say to myself “if they coach them up right, they’ll be just fine without Kobe”.
We love to trash the Lakers but honestly out of all the things they get destroyed for, they haven’t drafted badly. They’re not the Philadelphia 76ers when it comes to drafting, that’s a plus.
Larry Nance Jr, son of dunk champ with the same name, has been very decent in my eyes. He isn’t lighting it up stats wise but you can see something there. He’s got hops of course, he’s got good rebounding fundamentals there. In time, Nance wants to be a stretch four.
“Yeah, it’ll happen,” Nance Jr. told Los Angeles News Group. “I’m a rookie and I got lots of years to perfect my craft and work on my game. I’m getting very comfortable shooting the 15- and 18-footer. I’ve got multiple years and multiple summers to be able to work that out to the 3-point line. I’m very confident.”
“He has 3-point range,” Scott said. “He probably won’t take one unless the shot clock is running down. But I have a lot of confidence when he shoots the ball.“
While I have you, what do people mean by ‘3-Point Range’? I mean we all have eyes. Technically everybody has 3-Point range, Shaq has 3-Point range. It’s one of those basketball terminologies where it makes sense but in literal terms it means nothing.
But anyways I’m sure Nance can get there, I mean if Blake Griffin can do it so can Larry Nance Jr.
