Los Angeles Lakers young high-flying forward Larry Nance Jr has been one of the more pleasant surprises during the Lakers rebuild in a post-Kobe Bryant era. The son of the first NBA Slam Dunk Contest Champion has been living up to his family name while also getting some valuable playing time with the Lakers.
Last week, Nance Jr added to his dunk contest resume when he destroyed Brook Lopez with a huge dunk in Brooklyn. All signs were pointing towards Nance heading to the dunk contest, but now he faces a minor setback in the form of a born bruise in his knee. The injury will sideline him indefinitely.
Following from an official Lakers press release.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Larry Nance, Jr., who suffered an injury to his left knee in last night’s game in Charlotte, had an MRI exam today in Miami. Results showed a bone bruise, which will keep Nance, Jr. out indefinitely, but further results were inconclusive due to swelling in the knee. He will be re-examined by team physician Dr. David McAllister of UCLA Health on Sunday in Los Angeles, and an update will be given at that time.
