There is another big move within the Washington football franchise. This morning, longtime play-by-play announcer Larry Michael announced that he would be retiring after 16 seasons with the team.
“After 16 great years my time with the organization is over,” Michael said.
“As of today I’ll be retiring from my position with the team. As a lifelong Washingtonian I was blessed to work with a lot of great people. I want to thank everyone who contributed over the years. I’m especially grateful to [team owner] Dan Snyder for giving me the opportunity. On to the next chapter,” he continued.
Michael also served as the team’s pregame and post-game host and chief content officer. He also worked as the team’s senior vice president overseeing its video content and television shows.
The Washington football franchise has not yet commented on Michael’s retirement.
