Charlotte Hornets 6-18 start can’t be all Lance Stephenson’s fault. Can it?
Apparently Lance Stephenson was the trigger for Roy Hibbert’s problems in Indiana.
Is he the issue in Charlotte?
I don’t think it is, but the Charlotte Hornets brass may believe it is everyone’s fault, except for Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson.
According to a report from Candace Buckner of The Indianapolis Star, the Lance Stephenson trade to the Pacers may come down to one person, Pacers president of Basketball Operations, Larry Bird.
Indiana Pacers owner Herb Simon said he would personally be fine with bringing back Lance Stephenson in a trade, however the judgment would be up to the front office.
“I’d be OK with it but it’s not up to me. Larry (Bird) has to decide if he fits,” Simon told The Star
Several deciding factors would determine the Pacers’ interest in Stephenson, said Simon, and a huge consideration would be chemistry.
“First of all, we don’t know if they’re really trading him, at least I don’t know,” Simon said about the Hornets. “I know they made some calls and we would have to (figure out) how he fits back into the team. Those are all basketball decisions and Larry and Kevin (Pritchard) are the best to answer that.
As of yesterday, Stephenson was available to be considered in any trade.
I’m sorry but is ANYONE worried about what this would do to Roy Hibbert. This season, he is the BEST thing going for the Pacers and according to reports, STEPHENSON WAS THE PROBLEM!
What are the Pacers going to do then if they bring back Stephenson and Hibbert goes back to his old ways of only grabbing one rebound a week? They will struggle even more if Stephenson hinders Hibbert’s progress as a player.
Figure out Big Roy and his issues first, you know the guy who is ACTUALLY on the team, before you bring in someone who can potentially damage your squad.
