Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson will delay surgery and rehab to be able to play in the 2022-23 NFL Playoffs. Johnson suffered a torn tendon in his abdominal area in the fourth quarter of the team’s 40-34 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week Sixteen. He made this decision after consulting with multiple medical experts. While he is not expected to play in the team’s final two regular-season games, he will make an attempt to play in the team’s first Playoff game. Getting the number one overall seed in the NFC would give him an extra week to prepare for that game.

Lane Johnson is the top pass blocker in the NFL this season and an invaluable member of the Eagles’ offensive line for both the passing and rushing game. The Eagles are in the driver’s seat for the number one overall seed and need just one win or one Dallas Cowboys loss to capture the NFC East title. Philadelphia closes the season at home against the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants. The Eagles currently have the NFL’s best record with an overall record of 13-2. We here at Def Pen Sports wish Johnson the best in his recovery and return to the football field in the 2022-23 NFL Playoffs.
