Paul George’s future in Indiana is uncertain. There has been plenty of belly aching and public comments from George on the Pacers and where he would like to play in the future. Because of this, the Pacers organization needs to be searching for any reason to get him to stay. One way they tried to do this is by giving George what he has been asking for all season, kind of.
George has been complaining that the current Pacers are not like teams he used to be on. Longing for the defensive and competitve teams of the past. So, the Pacers brought back fan favorite, Lance Stephenson. In his first game back he helped the Pacers beat the Raptors by scoring 12 points, 3 assists, all while shooting 50% from the field and annoying the hell out of every Raptors player.
He is also already in on the recruiting of Paul George. In an interview with Query & Schultz, he said he would even go to hilariously drastic measures to keep the star forward.
“I think he’s staying. I don’t think he has any doubts about coming back. So I’m not worried about that,”
“I got to start working [on keeping him]. I got to get all my guys and tie him up in a chair and be like ‘you can’t leave!’ You ain’t going nowhere, Paul George.”
