The Texas Rangers have reportedly signed free agent starting pitcher Lance Lynn. The contract is set to be a 3-year deal worth $30 million for Lynn who signed just a few hours after Charlie Morton signed for similar numbers. Ken Rosenthal reported the deal on Twitter.

Over the course of the 2018 campaign, Lynn was traded from the Minnesota Twins to the New York Yankees. On the statistical side, Lynn featured a 10-10 record with a 4.77 ERA, with a WHIP of 1.52, striking out 161 batters over 156.2 innings pitched. When it came to the postseason for Lynn, he was roughed up in starts during the ALDS where the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox took the series.
Lynn’s signing was quiet, there was not much indication to who was in or out on him, unlike Morton who signed a few hours before and had announced his decision was coming soon. Lynn was not reported as having as many teams showing interest in him and the deal kinda sprung out of nowhere.
