Lana Del Rey has just released her magnificent album, “Born To Die”, but few people know that Rey actually had a 2010 album titled, Lana Del Ray A.K.A. Lizzy Grant. The album was released by the indie-label, 5 Points, and was taken down from iTunes after two months without any reason.
Online media speculated that the removal of the album was so that Rey could further re-invent herself. Some have even suggested that the album was terrible and that is why it was removed from iTunes.
Rey is fighting back though stating:
People act like it’s so shrouded in mystery, the ‘forgotten terrible album’. But if you look on YouTube, all 13 tracks are available with millions of views, so it’s not like no-one’s heard them. We were all proud of it. It’s pretty good.
Rey also concede that she bought the rights from 5 Points and will re-release Lana Del Ray A.K.A. Lizzy Grant in the summer of 2012 through her current label, Interscope.
