Lamar Odom knows what the doubters have been saying this off-season, he’s well aware of the jokes about his weight too, but the Clippers forward says he’s looking forward to getting back to his past form with the Lakers – and prove the doubters wrong in the process. Odom has had his critics since the Dallas Mavericks released him prior to the end of last season – the worst year of Lamar’s 13-years in the NBA – but Odom says he’s finally worked himself back into basketball form.
“I looked awesome,” Odom said, smiling. “To prove to all the doubters, I was hitting shots, throwing the ball in backwards. I hit a sky hook. Right in their face. That was to all the doubters. I’m a competitor, if it was chess, I would want to beat you. If it was a debate, I would want to beat you. I compete for a living. That’s what I do.”
The Clippers will be hoping Odom can recapture the form he showed with the Lakers during 2010-11 when he was named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year.
