The Los Angeles Lakers are entering themselves into the trading frenzy and they’re steady sellers. But they’re not giving away any of their young players, it is the veterans that might be wearing a different uniform this season.
The veterans I am talking about are Roy Hibbert, who’s contract is up after this season. Nick Young, Brandon Bass and Lou Williams.
Ditto for the Los Angeles Lakers and a number of veterans on their roster: Roy Hibbert, Brandon Bass, Nick Young and Lou Williams. We should note, however, that Hibbert possesses the only expiring contract in that quartet. Bass holds a $3.1 million player option for next season.
Now the Lakers need to be careful not to have just young players around. Part of the reason the Philadelphia 76ers are trash is because they are starving for veteran knowledge. Now they’ve tried to restore the balance with Elton Brand and attempting to get others, but they’re still trash.
And it’s not like the Lakers are doing well in terms of chemistry. All I see is D’Angelo and Julius Randle being hard to work with, imagine that situation with no veterans. They sometimes need to be checked by vets like Kobe, and with Kobe being gone after this season, someone has to take charge.
