The Los Angeles Lakers have had a complete mess of a season, statistically and emotionally. They broke records for how BAD they were, and their two most exciting players Kobe Bryant and rookie Julius Randle were injured for a majority of the season. Randle actually barely played his first regular season game in the NBA before getting injured. He fractured his Tibia in their home opener after playing less then a half of basketball.
Despite all this, things are coming up for the Lakers. Kobe says he’s feeling good, they got the 2nd pick in the NBA draft, and now prospect Julius Rande says he’s 100% according to Bill Oram of the Orange County Register:
Asked if he was 100 percent yet, Randle said, “I believe I am. The last time I checked probably about a month ago, the bone was 95 percent healed. I feel great.”
So now the Lakers have an aging Veteran in Kobe Bryant, 2 young rookie prospects in Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle. They have their 2nd overall pick which will probably be Jahil Okafor or Karl-Anthony Towns or D’Angelo Russell. The Los Angeles Lakers finally have a pretty bright future. Add in whatever free agents the Lakers can attract, and the Lakers might not be as bad as they were last year. Lakers fans rejoice!
