Tragic, tragic news in Los Angeles today. Jerry Buss, L.A Lakers owner since 1979 has passed away at the age of 80. Buss had been hospitalized since many months ago, but the severity of his cancer was kept secret and it was until a few days ago, that it was reported that he was in very bad health and in a situation that wasn’t going to get better.
The Lakers won ten championships when Buss was in control. Five of those titles were won when the Lakers had Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the 80’s. Another five titles were won when Phil Jackson led the Lakers in 2000,2001,2002 and in 2009-2010.
