I’m sorry. I think I just had a small stroke. You mean to tell me that the Los Angeles Lakers do NOT want the biggest Free Agent? And they have the cap space?!
Alright lets get to the bottom of this. It’s no secret that Anthony has choices. Houston, Chicago are the two prime candidates along with Dallas in the shadows and of course there’s hope for the Knicks faithful.
But why don’t the Lakers want him? One name… Kobe Bryant.
Do you really think that Kobe will “pass the torch” to Melo? You’d have to lock Kobe up to keep him away from being the head honcho. They may have the cap space to get Melo and if life was NBA 2K14 we would all have a great time playing as the Lakers but unfortunately that’s not the case.
It’s very clear Melo is not a good fit.
So with the Lakers a probable no that leaves Houston and Chicago. There’s even a problem with them two as well. They are far from under the salary cap. Trading will get you so far. If Houston get rid of Asik and Lin then Houston might be getting somewhere. Chicago need a mini overhaul. Dunleavy, Boozer, Gibson all have to go in order for Anthony to move in.
With all that said… Are New York in the driving seat in terms of re-signing him?
