Other teams, including the Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, New Orleans Pelicans and Charlotte Hornets had registered interest in Williams before the Lakers decided to trade him to Houston.
Houston has had the most prolific offense of any team aside from the Golden State Warriors this season. This offense will only get better with Lou Williams coming off the bench. Williams, who won Sixth Man of the Year in 2015, has averaged a career-high 18.6 points per game for the Lakers this season while shooting career-best percentages from the field (.444), three-point range (.385) and the foul line (.884).
