The Los Angeles Lakers have not had the best of starts when it comes to free agency. LaMarcus Aldridge is leaning towards the San Antonio Spurs and everybody else they’re thinking of getting are either gone or considering another team.
It’s a similar record when it comes to Dwyane Wade. The only reason he is linked with the Lakers is because he wants money, and the Lakers have exactly that. But their sense of urgency clearly isn’t on the Heat’s level, since they haven’t set up a meeting with Wade yet, but they plan to.
Lakers haven’t scheduled a meeting with Dwyane Wade just yet, but I’m told they plan to. Meeting with Greg Monroe and DeAndre Jordan today

Now the Lakers are confusing me. They knew for weeks that Wade was opting out, asking for money that the Heat didn’t want to give him. So you’d think set up a meeting as soon as possible right? But no. Now it may be too late, the Heat and Wade are talking and it’s looking more positive than it was a couple of weeks ago, they’re looking at a multi-year deal. So the Lakers are currently blowing it in terms of getting free agents. They better get their butt into gear. Getting D’Angelo was good, but there’s such a thing as momentum and that their momentum is running out quick.
They need more people than they do now. It was looking fine when we heard all the rumours of the players that might flock to LA. But nothing has happened and it seems as if the Lakers have fallen at the starting gate, which can kill a teams free agency. We’ve seen it before, and i don’t want to be premature, but it seems as if the Lakers are doing exactly that.
